Two weeks before the start of the Hellenic Rugby Union Championship the ‘Owls’ gave their first warm up game against the Springfield Rifles from the USA. This is the club of one of our founding members and coach  of Athens Rugby Club Babis Vavaroutsos.

In the game also saw the other Athens based club Attica Springbocks taking part as it was held on their home ground in Gluka Nera.
The Greek champions won the game 19 – 0, playing impressive rugby. Many of the clubs new signings took part in this game, learning in what a competitive sport they are getting into.

During the third part of the game the beer was flowing at our home ‘club house’ the Bulldog who supports us the last three years. All players had a great time which they will remember.
