It is that time of the year, the H.R.U. announced the schedule of the 4th Hellenic Rugby Union Championship which will start on the 29th of November 2008.

This year only 7 clubs will be contesting for Greek title. There is a new club that will participate this year the Thessaloniki Lions also two clubs that took part in the league the last three seasons will not be playing this year they are Evosmos Thessaloniki and Trikala.

The structure of the league will be different this year compared to the previous seasons. Each club will play each other once, either on a home or away basis depending on the league draw.

Then after the first round is completed the first four clubs in the league table will progress to the semi final of the Championship where the club that finished first will play the club that fished third and the club that finished second will pay against the club that finished fourth.
The winners of those matches will play against each other in the Grand Final.

The Greek champions will start their campaign to win their fourth sucsesive championship title by playing Iraklis in Thessaloniki on the weekend of 29 – 90 November 2008. The ‘owls’ first home game will be against Rodes at Zirinio on 13 – 14 December 2008.
